Celebrating Cultural Expression

Cultural expression has become one of the defining characteristics of the new millennium. For 20 years Deborah Whitehouse has made this the guiding principle of her work to empower the human spirit. Her themes evolve from an interactive process of photographing people of different traditions in an effort to expand cross-cultural awareness. The resulting art makes a signature statement that celebrates the unity of all people by honoring the diversity among them.

When this co-creation is successful, her work reflects the highest values of a community to itself and to others. As art, it transcends local identity and emerges as universal expression.
